This blog is written out of a desire to see mothers put aside the stereotypes, unrealistic expectations, comparisons and hurt and to be truthful and honest about what motherhood really is: hard, beautiful, messy, rewarding, simple, complicated, exhausting, overwhelming, wonderful and everything in between.  Being a woman is complex enough.  Add a little person that means the absolute world to us in the mix and the complexities are magnified 100x.

Confessions of an Honest Mom isn’t about me, the author, or my brood of littles.  It’s about all of us.  It’s about coming together, hearts on our sleeves, to laugh, cry, vent, worry, share, and leave it all at the feet of Jesus.  I’m not claiming to have all the answers.  I’m not claiming to have ANY answers, actually.  But I do know that there is freedom in embracing truth and embracing each other, and that is what I long for, friends.  For freedom.  For truth.  For the genuine embrace of someone who gets it.

So welcome to the sisterhood, dear ones.  No more doing this thing alone.  Be real.  Be honest.  Be free.

Thank you for being transparent and making yourself vulnerable. I appreciate it; and I can imagine many other moms do, too!

Question. How do I join your blog? :/

Allyson, thanks so much for reading! There should be a little button down at the right hand bottom of the screen that says “follow”. If you click on it you can put your e-mail address in and it will add you to my followers! Let me know if that works.
